A judge in charge of the investigation of the 2021 assassination of Haiti's former President Jovenel Moise indicted the president's widow Martine Moise (pictured), ex-Prime Minister Claude Joseph and Haiti's permanent representative to the Organization of the American States Leon Charles, along with others, CNBC reported.
The 122-page report by the judge in charge of the investigation reportedly threatens to further destabilize the country as Haiti faced a rise in gang violence and protests demanding the promised resignation of current Prime Minister Ariel Henry. Charles faces the charge of murder, while Martine Moise and Joseph are accused of complicity and criminal association.
The three were unavailable for comment, while Christian Emmanuel Sanon, also accused of murder, stated that he thought at the time that Moise was "only going to get arrested."
