Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Herzi Halevi (pictured) said in a statement on Saturday that although a lot has been achieved during a "multi-front and complex war," there is still "a long way to go until the war goals are achieved."
"The military is preparing for offenses in the additional areas and together with the political echelon we will decide on the timing and the appropriate conditions," he said, referring to Rafah in southern Gaza.
Halevi emphasized that Israeli forces are "imbued with a goal to bring the security that the citizens of Israel deserve." Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the plans for Rafah military operation in Gaza.
