Haley: January 6 was a terrible day

EPA-EFE/JUSTIN LANE

Former United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley stated that January 6, 2021, when former President Donald Trump's supporters breached the US Capitol, "was a terrible day, and we should never want to see that happen again."

Speaking at the fifth Republican primary debate, Haley clarified that the current US President Joe Biden won the 2021 election and that Trump should "answer for" what happened on January 6.

On the other hand, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he thinks "it's fine to criticize Donald Trump" but he refused to explicitly say his opinion about the Capitol riot.
