Former United States Ambassador to the United Nations and Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley said during a CNN town hall that she would be open to a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine issue, but claimed Palestinians are against it because they "don't want Israel to exist."
"When I was at the UN, I mean, the two-state solution came up over and over again and Israel always showed up at the table. The Palestinians always rejected the two-state solution. And the reason they've rejected the two-state solution is because they want a one-state solution," Haley stated.
Haley's comments come after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he is against Palestinian sovereignty because Israel "needs security control all territory west of the Jordan river" and added: "This conflict is not about the absence of a (Palestinian) state but about the existence of a state, the Jewish state."
