Hamas issued a statement on Friday urging the residents of Gaza not to comply with Israel's "delusional" directive to evacuate the northern part of the Strip amid increasing concerns about a potential ground operation.
According to Hamas, the Palestinian people "reject the threat of the occupation leaders and their call on them in Gaza to leave their homes" and to seek refuge in either southern Gaza or Egypt. The group condemned Israel's orders as "an expression of the bankruptcy of this occupation."
Earlier today, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) urged the evacuation of all Gaza City residents due to "Hamas terrorists" utilizing underground tunnels beneath houses and buildings to hide.
