The Palestinian militant group Hamas' armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for the deadly shooting at the checkpoint in the West Bank on Thursday.
According to the group's statement posted on one of its Telegram Channels, fighters belonging to the Al-Qassam Brigades clashed with Israeli forces at the military checkpoint near Jerusalem, claiming to have "killed" and "wounded" several Israeli soldiers.
Meanwhile, the Israeli police said that three "terrorists," who are believed to have initiated gunfire on security forces, have been neutralized, while six Israeli security personnel are said to have been injured in the incident.
