Senior Hamas officials arrived in Cairo last night to discuss developments in the Gaza ceasefire talks, Qatari newspaper Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed reported on Thursday.

According to the outlet, the Hamas representatives held talks with Egyptian officials and are set to return to Qatar today to discuss the details of the developments in the negotiations.

Earlier this week, Israeli media reported that Hamas refused to release all hostages Israel asked it to and offered to release 22 living hostages and the bodies of several dead hostages instead. Meanwhile, Arab media cited Egyptian sources as saying that Israel's "inflexibility" is to blame for bringing ceasefire talks to the "verge of collapse."
