Hamas said in a statement that the Israeli government's decision to "overturn the ceasefire agreement" exposes the remaining hostages in Gaza to an "unknown fate."
"We demand that the mediators hold Netanyahu fully responsible for violating and overturning the ceasefire agreement," Hamas said. The group's statement came in response to a series of sudden Israeli strikes, the largest of its kind to blast through the Gaza Strip since the shaky ceasefire began on January 19.
"Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said after the strikes, citing Hamas' "repeated refusal to release our hostages, as well as its rejection of all of the proposals it has received from US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and from the mediators."
