The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, called on United States President Donald Trump to retract his statements about Washington's takeover of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, describing the remarks as "irresponsible" and "inconsistent" with international law.

The movement stressed in the statement that Trump's comments are further fueling tensions and are "hostile" to the Palestinian people, noting that such remarks do not contribute to fostering stability in the region. "The American racist stance aligns with the Israeli extreme right's position in displacing our people and eliminating our cause," Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanou stated.

The militant group urged Arab nations and the international community to take a decisive stance to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people and advocate for the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
