Democratic presidential nominee and United States Vice President Kamala Harris has a slight lead ahead of GOP candidate, former President Donald Trump, in Michigan and Pennsylvania, the latest UMASS Lowell/YouGov poll showed, as cited by Politico.
Harris is leading Trump 48%-43% in Michigan, while the race in Pennsylvania is much closer, with the Democrat having the support of 48% of the respondents compared to Trump's 46%.
The survey also showed that Democratic Senate candidates in both states have significant leads over their Republican counterparts. Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey is ahead of high Republican rival Dave McCormick 47%-38%, while in Michigan, Democratic Representative Elissa Slotkin has the backing of 47% of participants, while GOP candidate Mike Rogers has 34% in the race to succeed the retiring Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow.
