Musk: AI will be a truth improver

Elon Musk stated that artificial intelligence (AI) will be a "truth improver" in his talks with Cathie Wood on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

"AI will minimize the error between perceived reality and actual reality," Musk said. He then remarked that AI will create competition in the search for the truth causing people to flock towards the AI that leads in this pursuit. "We can also see this competition with X. As soon as X pushes for the maximal truth, others also have to do it," Musk stressed.

When asked about his thoughts on open AI versus closed AI, Musk shared that he is in favor of open-source AI, as he already open-sourced the algorithm for X. He continued to state that closed AI will outperform open-sourced AI by a "meaningful amount" at "any given point in time." due to the immense rate of improvement when it comes to AI.
