United States Vice President Kamala Harris is set to announce a ban on tests of anti-satellite weapons, NBC reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Harris will make the announcement later today during her visit to the Vanderburg Space Force Base in California, the outlet explained.

The move is, in part, meant to highlight Washington's criticism of Russia's test conducted in November, which created a cloud of uncontrollable space debris.
