United States Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris vowed on Friday to strengthen the nation's economy, calling it an "opportunity economy" for all Americans to achieve homeownership, afford a car, and start their businesses.

"Under my plan, we will also bring down the cost of housing and we will help entrepreneurs start and grow small businesses," Harris said during the Michigan rally, stressing that her administration's economic strategy would also focus on lowering the cost of healthcare and groceries in the United States.

"My plan also invests in American manufacturing and innovation because I will make sure America, not China wins the competition of the 21st century," Harris stressed.
