Hezbollah carried out a missile attack against the Israeli army missile defense base at Beria, near Safed in Upper Galilee in northern Israel, the militant organization said in a statement.

Hezbollah said the attack was retaliation for an assassination the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted in the town of Kfar Joz. The Lebanon-based militant organization added it targeted the base with a barage of Katyusha rockets.

In the meantime, the IDF released a statement saying that 20 rockets were fired toward Safed but were intercepted or fell in open areas without causing any injuries or material damage.
