The downing of a high-altitude object by the United States forces over Alaska was seen as a success by the White House, US President Joe Biden told CNN.
The move marked the second time in less than a week that the US had to shoot down a flying object, as its military on Saturday grounded a suspected Chinese spy balloon over the Atlantic Ocean.
Since the first incident, the Biden administration faced questions about whether the head of state gave the order in time.
