Hino Motors, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck to reportedly merge business

Hino Motors Ltd and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp, owned by Daimler, will merge their businesses, the Japanese daily Yomiuri reported on Tuesday.

The announcement follows a fiscal year plagued by irregularities at Hino Motors after problems were discovered in the performance testing of its engines.

In addition, consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ended March 2023 showed a final loss of ¥117.6 billion, marking the third consecutive year of losses.
