Holocaust memorial stabbing suspect arrested

Berlin police arrested a suspect Friday evening in connection with a stabbing at the city's Holocaust Memorial.

"Our forces have detained a suspect in the vicinity of the crime scene," city police stated on X. "The person is still being checked, and the investigation continues."

The attack seriously injured a man just two days before Germany's national election at around 6:00 pm CET at the famous landmark near the United States embassy. Authorities have not disclosed the suspect's identity or motive.
