Honda releases new electric scooter in Vietnam

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. launched on Monday its newest electric scooter, the ICON e:, exclusively in Vietnam.

According to the announcement the company's Vietnamese branch made on Facebook, the scooter will be available for purchase in April and cost 29 million dong (approximately $1,130), excluding the battery. The motorbike is run by a lithium-ion battery that can reach some 1.5 kilowatts (KW) of power and can hit a speed of 48 kilometers per hour (km/h).

According to Nikkei Asia, Honda's launch came amid its intention to compete with the local brand VinFast Auto Ltd.
