Brazil crushes S. Korea on the way to World Cup QFs

Brazil dominated South Korea 4-1 in the knockout stage of the 2022 World Cup at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar, on Monday and moved on to the quarterfinals.

In the seventh minute, Vinicius Junior hit the back of the net with a placed shot from the left side of the penalty box. Neymar converted a penalty won by Richarlison six minutes later to make it 2-0 for Brazil. The Tottenham striker extended the lead to three in the 29th minute on an assist by Thiago Silva and Vinicius Junior found Lucas Paqueta deep in the penalty box and the West Ham attacking midfielder scored with a first-time shot seven minutes later. Paik Seung-ho scored a consolation goal for the Asian team with a thunderous strike from over 20 yards out in the 76th minute.

Brazil will face Croatia on December 9 in the battle to claim a place in the semifinals.
