Houthi movement leader Abdul-Malik Badruldeen al-Houthi said on Thursday that Yemen is now "in direct confrontation with the United States and the United Kingdom", warning that American and British ships transiting through the Red Sea will be targeted by the Houthi rebels.
In a televised speech, the official stressed that the recent strikes conducted by the US and the UK on the Houthi positions in Yemen will strengthen the rebel group's military capability.
Furthermore, the Houthi chief stated that the US administration aims to drag its allies "to participate and contribute directly to the aggression against the Palestinian people" by supporting Israel in its war against Hamas.
