Hungary allegedly to withdraw from ICC

Hungary will likely withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's upcoming visit this week, The Times of Israel reported on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Netanyahu is scheduled to hold discussions with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban tomorrow. Orban previously dismissed the ICC's arrest warrant for Netanyahu and extended an official invitation, assuring him protection from detention during his visit.

This marks Netanyahu's first trip to Europe since the ICC issued arrest warrants for him and former defense minister Yoav Gallant last year, citing alleged war crimes in Gaza. As signatories to the Rome Statute, member nations like Hungary are typically required to arrest individuals under ICC warrants.
