Hyundai's Q4 revenue soars 24% to $31.3B

Hyundai Motor said on Thursday its revenue surged 24.2% in the last trimester of 2022 compared to the same period a year ago to reach 38.52 trillion won ($31.3 billion). The carmaker's operating income more than doubled to 3.36 trillion won. Net income skyrocketed 143.8% to 1.71 trillion won.

The company saw the largest expansion in demand across India of over 22% year-on-year both looking at the last quarter of 2022 and the previous year as a whole. The global demand expanded by 4.3% in the last three months of 2022 and 1% in 2022 as a whole. Global sales of electric vehicles jumped by 41.8% in the fourth quarter, reaching a share of 5.7%.
