Hyundai, Kia to recall over 570,000 cars in US

Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. revealed on Friday that they will recall over 570,000 vehicles in the United States due to a fire risk. Hyundai said one vehicle caught fire in six recorded incidents so far involving short-circuiting tow hitch harness modules.

The affected models are 2022-2023 model year Hyundai Santa Cruz, 2019-2023 Santa Fe, 2021-2023 Santa Fe Hybrid, 2022-2023 Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid, and 2022-2023 Kia Carnival. The companies advised owners to park their vehicles outside and away from buildings until they can be repaired.
