The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) supposedly started calling on Palestinian civilians to evacuate Gaza's southern city of Rafah, ahead of the planned Israeli offensive on the city, the Times of Israel reported.

The civilians living in the eastern part of Rafah are urged to move to an expanded humanitarian zone in the al-Mawasi and Khan Younis areas, according to the Israeli army radio.

The move comes after Israel and Hamas failed to reach a ceasefire deal on Sunday. Additionally, Israeli forces previously conducted air strikes on Rafah, killing at least 16.
