UK's GDP fell by 0.3% in April

The United Kingdom's gross domestic product (GDP) decreased 0.3% in April, according to a monthly estimate released by the country's Office for National Statistics on Monday. UK's GDP increased by 0.2% in the three months to April 2022.

According to the report, the main contributor to the fall was a 0.3% decrease in the services output, which was reflected in the significant decline of 5.6% in the health care activity. Production was down 0.6%, and construction fell 0.4%.

This is the first time since January 2021 that all main sectors impacted negatively the monthly GDP estimate.
