The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) detected 55 new missiles crossing the Lebanese territory this morning, an IDF spokesman revealed on IDF's Telegram channel on Tuesday.
According to the statement, out of the five missiles detected following the alerts in the valley area, some of them were intercepted by the Israeli military, while the others fell in open areas. Alerts were also activated in the Upper Galilee area, with about 50 missile launches detected from the Lebanese territory. IDF reports that most of those missiles were intercepted, but there have been buildings that were damaged and fires that have broken out as a result of the missile attacks.
These attacks come a few hours after the two rockets launched from Lebanon landed in the sea this morning. Hezbollah announced earlier this morning that it carried out missile strikes against IDF airbases overnight as a response to recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
