The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that its troops remain active in southern Syria, focusing on neutralizing threats near Mount Hermon.
According to the IDF, a reserve battalion from the brigade, along with Yahalom combat engineers, recently destroyed several abandoned Syrian regime outposts. These positions, located close to the summit, were seen as potential staging grounds for hostile actions against Israeli troops stationed in the Hermon sector.
They said the operation is part of continued IDF efforts to strengthen security along the buffer zone and protect both Golan Heights communities and northern Israeli territory.
