The United States Department of State announced on Monday sanctions against individuals, entities, and vessels linked to the illicit transportation of commodities supporting terrorism.
The sanctions target shipping and financial facilitators, including vessel captains, managers, owners, and a company involved in forging shipping documents. Additionally, two vessels have been identified as blocked property.
"Houthi financial facilitator Sa'id al-Jamal continues to leverage an expansive support network to facilitate the illicit sale of commodities, including hiding the origin of cargo, forging shipping documents, and providing services to sanctioned vessels," a note published by the department said.
