German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies AG said on Monday in a statement that the company will allocate €5 billion to production.
"To enable the expected acceleration in growth of analog/mixed-signal and power semiconductors, Infineon is planning to continue expanding its 300-millimeter manufacturing capacity and invest €5 billion. The intended location is Dresden (Germany), subject to adequate public funding," it was written in the statement.
The company noted that when the planned factory starts operating at full capacity, it could reach "an annual revenue potential equal to the level of the investment." Infineon further shared that the plant is expected to secure up to 1,000 new jobs and should be put into action in the fall of 2026.
