Instagram head agrees with decision to ban Trump

Instagram's Head Adam Mosseri agrees with Facebook's decision to permanently ban the account of outgoing United States President Donald Trump, The Verge reported on Tuesday. "I agree with the decision... I'm really worried about it, I'm not happy about it, but I definitely agree with it," Mosseri said in an interview with the website staff.

"We had a sitting president incite a riot and point a mob at the Capitol building to try and prevent the peaceful transfer of power to a democratically-elected official... So when democracy itself is attacked, that is a big deal and kind of changes the game for us. So we're being very intense this week about pulling levers and trying to make sure that we do everything we can to reduce the likelihood of any more violence, particularly directed at undermining democracy," Mosseri added.

Several social networks decided to shut Trump's accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Reddit.
