The shares of Intuitive Machines Inc. dropped 20% on Thursday after the firm failed to confirm whether its second-ever Moon landing was successful.

While Intuitive Machines' Nova-C lunar lander, called Athena, was confirmed to be on the surface, its orientation remained uncertain. Athena started its journey on February 26. In 2024, Intuitive Machines' spacecraft Odysseus managed to land on the Moon but toppled once reaching its destination. The main payload, carried by Athena, belongs to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The company's stock slid 20.41% at 1:05 pm ET, going for $11.23 apiece.
