Iran's Zarif: Nuclear deal is not renegotiable

The Iranian nuclear agreement (JCPOA) is not open for further negotiations despite United States President Donald Trump's "desperate attempts" to undermine it, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif (pictured) claimed on Friday, shortly after the US president decided to extend the Iranian sanctions relief, but warned that this might be the last time he did so. Tehran's top diplomat also slammed Trump's announcement as "maliciously violating" a number of JCPOA's paragraphs.

"Trump's policy & today’s announcement amount to desperate attempts to undermine a solid multilateral agreement, maliciously violating its paras 26, 28 & 29. JCPOA is not renegotiable: rather than repeating tired rhetoric, US must bring itself into full compliance -just like Iran," Zarif wrote on Twitter.
