Iranian Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that its army will count on with a "large number" of domestically-made drones to protect the country from "land, air and sea threats."
In a ceremony in Tehran, Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani promised to be making great efforts to "increase the country’s deterrent power and to boost the combat power of the armed forces." The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) include the Karrar jet, Arash, Ababil-4 and Ababil-5 drones that can be used in scouting operations, patrol assignments, electronic combat, data gathering, and aerial fighting.
