Iran buys Russian Su-35 fighter jets

Iran has purchased Russian-made Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) official told the SNN news outlet on Monday. Ali Shadmani, the deputy coordinator of the IRGC's engineering arm Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters, said Iran is accelerating military equipment manufacturing and replacing outdated systems with modern ones.

Shadmani did not say how many jets Iran has bought or when they will be delivered. He added that Iran will continue to purchase military equipment to strengthen its air, ground, and naval forces "whenever necessary."
