Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stressed on Monday during a press conference that Tehran had no involvement in the attack on what was believed to be an Israeli-linked chemical tanker.

Kanaani insisted that the strike was carried out by Yemen's Houthi rebels, who acted independently, and not by Iran, as Israeli officials claimed.

Meanwhile, addressing the situation in Gaza, the Iranian official mentioned that Tehran remains in favor of ending the conflict, as its officials continue to hold discussions with other countries in the region on how to solve the matter. "Based on the information we have, the Qatari government is making serious efforts regarding the ceasefire and we hope that the current ceasefire will be stable," he added.
