Meta Platforms Inc. is said to be working on a new artificial intelligence system, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday citing sources.
According to people familiar with the matter, the parent company of Facebook and Instragam is aiming to begin the training of the new AI system early next year, making it far more powerful than Llama 2.
Namely, Mark Zuckerberg, the company's CEO, is reportedly pushing for the new system to be "open-sourced" and made available to businesses to build AI-powered tools, the unnamed sources said.
