Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Thursday that Tehran sent its reply to Trump's letter via Oman yesterday.
"This official response includes a letter in which our points of view regarding the current situation and Mr. Trump's letter have been fully explained and informed to the other party," the foreign minister clarified. He further stated that Iran will not conduct direct negotiations with the US due to its policy of exerting maximum pressure on his country. On the other hand, Araghchi maintained that indirect negotiations can be carried out through appropriate third parties.
Trump's letter reached Iran via the United Arab Emirates on March 12. According to speculations, Trump gave the Middle Eastern nation a 2-month deadline for a new nuclear deal. He previously hinted at a military solution unless Tehran gave up its nuclear ambitions.
