Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for Iran's armed forces, said that Israel carried out its strikes against Iran with US support, IRNA reported.

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio moved fast to preemptively counter any accusations from Iran following the Israeli strikes, stressing that Washington wasn't involved and that Israel had told the US that "this action was necessary for its self-defense." Rubio also warned Iran against attacking US personnel.

Meanwhile, the Iranian General Staff of the Armed Forces warned that its response to Israel will be "will be decisive and make [the enemy] regret."
