Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on Monday and pointed out that Iran "is willing to restraint and has no intention of further escalating" tensions with Israel.
"China has noted Iran's statement that the actions it took were limited and that it was an exercise of the right to self-defense in response to the attack on the embassy building ... We believe that Iran can grasp the situation well and avoid further instability while safeguarding Iran's sovereignty and dignity," the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated.
According to a report from Israel's Channel 12, the country aims to inflict harm on Iran without initiating a full-scale war.
