Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei called on the international community on Monday to take immediate action to stop Israel's "genocide and hold the criminals accountable."
In a post on X, the spokesman slammed Israel for assassinating five Al Jazeera journalists in the Gaza Strip overnight. "A press badge is no shield against genocidal war criminals who fear the world witnessing their atrocities," he stressed.
Baghaei's comments come after the Israel Defense Forces confirmed the killing of Al Jazeera reporters, claiming they were Hamas operatives acting "under the guise of" journalists and accusing them of planning rocket attacks "against Israeli civilians and IDF forces."
