Iran: Trump's maximum pressure policy will fail

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi slammed on Wednesday United States President Donald Trump's intention to impose the maximum pressure approach to Tehran after signing a bill to stop it from obtaining a nuclear weapon as a feat that will "lead to another failure."

"Iran is a committed member of the NPT [Non-Proliferation Treaty] and its positions on this matter are quite clear," Araghchi insisted while talking to the press, stressing that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a fatwa against nuclear arms in 2005.

Upon signing the deal, Trump still pointed out he wanted to reach an agreement with Iran on the matter.
