Iran’s Foreign Ministry responded to allegations by the United States that its missile test breached the nuclear program deal from 2015 by calling the accusations “baseless and provocative,” Tasnim News Agency reported on Thursday.
Bahram Qassemi (pictured), a spokesman for the ministry, claimed the US was intentionally trying to cause tension in the Middle East in order to sell more weapons in the region. He accused Washington of aiding terrorists by targeting “the Iranian nation for constantly fighting against terrorism” instead of being grateful.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump’s National Security Advisor Michael Flynn condemned Iran’s ballistic missile test carried out earlier in the week and said the US is “officially putting Iran on notice” due to Tehran’s action. Trump slammed Iran in a series of tweets insisting it should be “thankful” to the US for the 2015 deal.
