Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani will visit Russia from April 18 to 20, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday. The diplomat's trip comes amid high tensions in the Middle East between Iran and Israel following an exchange of airstrikes. Russia, an ally of Iran, has called on both sides to exercise restraint.
The Russian Foreign Ministry told Ria Novosti Kani will take part in the Moscow Nonproliferation Conference. "It is also expected that a number of his meetings will take place with the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs," the ministry said.
