The Islamic State (IS) took responsibility on Saturday for the attack on festivalgoers in the German city of Solingen, which resulted in three dead and eight injured. The militant group posted on Telegram that the stabbing was carried out "in revenge for Muslims in Palestine and everywhere."
The German police arrested two people in relation to the incident today, although it is unclear whether they were directly involved in the attack. North Rhine-Westphalia Minister-President Josef Wuest said the stabbing was an "act of terror against the security and freedom of this country," according to Deutsche Welle.
