Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said on Tuesday that a ceasefire deal between his country and Lebanon-based Hezbollah is "a historic mistake."

"This isn't a ceasefire. It's a return to the concept of quiet for quiet, and we already saw where this leads," Ben-Gvir shared in a post on X, adding that "ultimately we'll again need to return to Lebanon."

Earlier, worldwide media reported that the Israeli government approved a ceasefire agreement, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he would submit a ceasefire deal proposal to his cabinet for approval.
