Israel's Ambassador to Turkey, Irit Lillian (pictured left), during an online briefing with journalists on Sunday stated that offering mediation between Israel and Hamas at this time is "premature."
"Mediation comes at a different point of time. Right now, we are unfortunately counting the dead, we are trying to heal the wounded, we don’t even know what is the number of the citizens abducted," she said. Also, the official emphasized Israel's priority is its response to the attack, which has resulted in hundreds of Palestinian and Israeli deaths.
The envoy's comments come after Israel officially declared itself at war with Palestine.
