A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip officially began at 11:15 am local time, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced on Sunday.
The ceasefire was set to start at 8:30 am local time, but it was delayed as Israel refused to stop attacks on Gaza until Hamas provides a list of hostages to be released today.
The first three female captives held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip are expected to be freed later in the day.
