The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday it hit a Hamas command center based in Gaza's Al-Ahli hospital.
"The IDF and Shin Bet attacked a command and control complex in the northern Gaza Strip inside the Al-Ahli hospital that was used by the Hamas terrorist organization," the IDF stated. "The complex was used by the terrorists to plan and execute terrorist attacks against IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel," it added.
Earlier media reports said that Israel issued an evacuation order before conducting the strike, but that at least three patients died after the evacuation. The Israeli strike on the Al-Ahli hospital was also reported to have destroyed the oxygen station, surgery and emergency departments in the hospital and put it completely out of service.
