WH denies rescinding federal grant pause

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt denied on Wednesday the rescission of the order to temporarily pause federal grants, emphasizing that it was only a rescission of an earlier memorandum issued by the White House Office of Management and Budget.

The reason behind its rescission was the "confusion" that arose as a result of a federal judge blocking the order, Leavitt wrote on X.

"The President's EO's [executive orders] on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented," she stated.
