The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) checked the DNA of a number of bodies found in Gaza to determine if any belonged to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar (pictured) but received negative results, Channel 12 reported on Monday.

The report comes after Israeli media reported the country is looking into a "highly unlikely" scenario that Sinwar was killed during recent operations in Gaza. However, the suspicions of the Hamas leader being killed were based solely on the fact that he has not made any comments or appearances recently and Israel's security agency Shin Bet said it believes he is alive.
